We know we're no longer reckless and rebellious enough to want new fun experiences everyday. We know we're mature enough to take responsibility with words we say and learn to forgive and accept their flaws. We know now that we're more grown up to understand what it means to truly love and care for someone hard enough to just want to be theirs and want them to be ours. We don't want to keep hiding our feelings for them but we're too afraid to ask ' What are we?' because we know sometimes the truth could hurt even more than the current 'artificial' happiness we are putting up with. We're tired of waking up being scared whether they are leaving us today. We can't just pack all our jealousy and pain in a plastic bag and toss it out of the window when our loved one ends up having fun with someone else because human is possessive and jealousy is inevitable. We don't want to just be a tool for their entertainment. We're stirred with their sweet actions but we're too lured to figure out if they see us as a hookup partner, a best friend or someone truly significant that they don't wanna lose.

We stop wanting to puzzle about how to refer to them as because they are not our lover, but we don't want to call them by the word “friend”. We thought being in an open relationship would give us less worry about, but at some point it brings more fear than ever. When we're so used to holding hand with them, when we regularly meet them multiple times a week, and they are the first person we think about even when a tiniest sad thought glimmers, when all our friends have heard about our “significant other”, suddenly we start to think 'Have I sunk too deep in my feelings that I can't find the way back?' Sooner or later we will get attached. Because sometimes we believe having someone who is available when we need them is enough, that we don’t need to make it official or give a label, because we feel like being in love and being loved.
